Create Event

Creating an event allows you to track an event that takes place at your facility. To create an event:

  1. Access the Event module by clicking the Event link at the top of the page.

  2. Select the Create Event tab.

  3. Enter the event General Information.

    1. In the Property field, select the property where the event will take place.

    2. In the Space/Floor field, select the space or floor where event will take place.

    3. In the Event Type field, select the kind of event, for example, equipment training or conference.

    4. In the Event SubType field, select a value to further define the event type.

    5. In the Location field, enter any additional information about the place where the event will take place.

    6. Enter values in the Event Date and Time fields to indicate when the event will take place.

      The system will default to the current date and time. To enter a different value, you can enter the date or click the calendar icon to choose the date.

    7. In the External Incident ID field, enter a value for any external event ID, for example, a reservation number.

    8. Enter values in the Event End Date and Time fields to record when the event will end.

    9. To indicate a vendor involved in the event, choose the Company Doing Work by clicking the Select link.

    10. In the Asset field, specify any asset that was involved in the event. You can click the Select link to select a value from a list of available assets.

    11. In the Confidential field, select Yes to mark the event as confidential.

      Marking an event as confidential prevents unauthorized users from viewing the event. Your security rights determine if you can view confidential events.

  4. Enter the Event Summary information.

    1. In the large Event Objective field, enter a description of the objectives of the event.
    2. Click the check mark icon if you want to spell check the event objective.
  5. Enter the Event Hosted By information.

    1. In the First Name field, enter the first name of the person hosting the event.
    2. In the Last Name field, enter the last name of the person hosting the event.
    3. In the Company/Department field, enter the name of the company or department of the person hosting the event.
    4. In the Occupation field, enter the occupation of the person hosting the event.
    5. In the Phone field, enter the phone number of the person hosting the event.
    6. In the Fax field, enter the fax number of the person hosting the event.
  6. Enter the Event Entered By information.

    1. In the First Name field, enter the first name of the person entering the event.
    2. In the Last Name field, enter the last name of the person entering the event.
    3. In the Company/Department field, enter the name of the company or department of the person entering the event.
    4. In the Email Address field, enter the email address of the person entering the event.
    5. In the Phone field, enter the phone number of the person entering the event.
    6. In the Fax field, enter the fax number of the person entering the event.
  7. Enter the All Events information.

    1. In the Next Meeting Date field, enter the next meeting date for a recurring event.
    2. In the Additional Comments field, enter comments about the next upcoming event.
    3. In the Agenda field, enter information about the agenda items for the next upcoming event.
  8. Click ADD.

Once you have created the event, you will be directed to the Event Details page to further define the event.
